Have you ever just not liked your life? Do you feel – empty and you don’t know why? My life is, honestly, perfect. I have a wonderful husband of 28 years, who adores me, I have kids who I love and love me and are trying to do good in their lives. They are on their own paths, but are healthy and finding their own way in this world. I’ve never gone hungry, naked, or been too cold in the winter (I hate being cold). I have never needed for anything – truly.
So why do I feel discontent at times? I want to put an end to any discontentment in my thought life. So I have committed to be “content what ever the circumstances”, as the Apostle Paul states in Philippians 4:11.
Join me, won’t you, as I explore Simple Contentment this next two weeks.
Each day, I will focus on what contentment is, by following a daily formula that goes like this:
Cee’s Simple Contentment Formula
- Reach out and Bless someone – with a call, card, letter, email or visit.
- Reach in and Bless myself – take 15 minutes and relax, take time to manicure my digits, read etc.
- Discipline myself – do something I don’t want to do but needs to be done.
- Stretch myself – excercise at least 20 minutes – and record it.
- Nurture my mind – focus on an aspect of contentment each day. Find the true meaning for that attitude, and memorize it.
- Focus on the positive by ending my day with a daily thanksgiving prayer – naming at least 3 things I’m thankful for that day.
The mental attitudes I will be exploring are: Patience, Kindness, Joyfulness, Peacefulness, Rudeness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Self-control, Goodness, Forgiveness, Hopefulness, Jealousy, Perseverance, and Not demanding my own way. These are some the Fruit of the Spirit Paul lists in Galatians 5:22 and some of the ways Paul describes true love in 1Corinthians 13:4-8.

I welcome any comments and feedback you have to offer.
