In this day and age of blended families, I’ve written this letter for several children who visit others on holidays. Be sure to personalize this letter by changing the parts that are in red to fit the child. The child then can keep this letter when they go home as a memory of your love for them.
Copy the text and paste it in your favorite word processing application. Then change all the places that are red to personalize it for your special child, and print it out for them. Or for added personal touch, you can hand write it on some pretty stationery for them too.

Christmas is such a special time of year. It’s when we honor Jesus’ birth. Although we know He was the best Gift ever given, and we can’t out give God, we give presents to each other as a way of letting them know we care about them. This year, I wanted to take some special time out and tell you that you are one of the best gifts God could have ever given me. I cherish you and am so glad you are my child, grandchild, nephew, niece. I am so blessed that you are with me for Christmas this year! Having you with me makes my Christmas extra special!
I want you to know that you will always have a special place in my heart for no other reason than name one thing that makes this child special to you, first born, left handed, etc. I love the fact that you are name one positive personality trait, such as always smiling, have something good to say, etc. Thank you for being who you are. You are a treasure to me, don’t ever forget that.
I am so amazed how you have matured and grown. I still can’t believe you are _____ (age of child) already! I look forward to watching you grow into the awesome gentleman/lady I know you will be one day. With your many God given talents, I know you will go far in life. Never give up on yourself, no matter how hard life seems. You will be soaring with the eagles one day, I know it.
If I could give you a gift of wisdom, it would be to keep Jesus close to your heart and always listen to the Holy Spirit. Don’t put anything before God. Keep Him first always.
