Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.” (World English Bible)

God is so good, isn’t He? Yes, ALL the time! He never lets us down. I had a problem this week (and who didn’t, right?). As I went to the Lord about it, the VERY first verse I looked at was “Cast your burden on Yahweh…” Peace washed over me as I realized He is with me NOW. Casting means to throw with force. We are to throw our problems on the Lord! When we throw them, they are gone quickly out of our hands and into the Lord’s! He is there with His ‘catchers mitt’ on ready to catch anything we throw to Him! Praise His Name!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Abba God, Thank you for small verses in the Bible that change my attitude in a heartbeat. I praise You for being ready to catch my problems and help me through them, no matter how small or big they really are. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Hallelu-YAH!

The Face of Pure Faith

The Face of Pure Faith. My grand daughter, Nonnie, at 18 months of age, in 2005.

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”

Ephesians 5:1 “Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children”. (WEB)

Childhood is so magical, isn’t it? As little ones, we truly believed in the impossible! We lived on the words of the adults in our lives as the ultimate truth, never questioning what they said.  But as we grew into adults, we became jaded, hurt, calloused by the world.  Our child-like faith faded into almost nonexistence. But Jesus says we need to become like children in our Faith Walk, believing Him for the miracles and promises he has declared.  When we accomplish this, our Faith Walk is bound to become as magical as our childhood was! We can truly believe His words, never having to question Him or His intentions. As our Magical Faith Walk matures, we can imitate God’s love and compassion for other people, touching them with the Magic of Believing, too!

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank You for the Magic of Believing in Your Words.  Thank You for guiding us to take on the child like faith in You and in our lives that we once had, believing what You say is the ultimate truth. Help us imitate You in our lives, bringing others to Believe in You as we have.  Bring people into our lives this week who need to hear Your words come out of our mouths, who need hugs from You that come from us, who need Your love that flows through us.  In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray, Amen.

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Our tongues are as dangerous as a gun. We would never point a gun at a loved one and shoot at them.  That would injure or kill them.  Yet we do that with our talking, if we carelessly blast someone with angry or upset words. The effects of the damage our tongues do is invisible to the naked eye. So we don’t see the damage we do with our words.  Yet words have the same impact to another’s feelings as bullets do to their body.

In this context, I have been guilty of ‘machine gunning’ people down at times.  I have also tended to ’shoot first and ask questions later’. In the process, I have destroyed others with my words.

What a sobering thought….

Prayer: Dear Lord, please forgive me for harsh words I have spoken.  Help me be aware at all times that my tongue is just the same as a loaded gun.  I do not want to hurt anyone intentionally with careless words – especially my loved ones. Help me ALWAYS to keep the ’safety switch’ on my tongue by filtering my words through Your Word, Your love and Jesus’ example. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Hallelu-Yah!
